Inter-city travel, rebuilt around who you travel with
Voyar Technologies is an inter-city ride-sharing software company, built to help solve the traffic congestion and pollution that come from travelling between Canadian cities. We match passengers and drivers on the travel preferences each of them has declared, not only on where they are going. Inter-city travel takes several hours, and who you spend them with decides what those hours are like. Carpooling between cities also cuts congestion and greenhouse gases, and a shared ride puts you next to people worth knowing.
How the matching works
Our matching takes into account not only the practical aspects of travel, such as the starting point, final destination, price and timing, but the travel preferences each person has declared.
Why this corridor, and why now
Greyhound ended inter-city bus service in Central Canada in May 2021, after withdrawing from Western Canada in 2018. Between Ottawa, Toronto and Montréal that left the car, the train and a thinner set of coach operators. Voyar starts from the seats already making the drive.
The rider and driver apps launch in the Ottawa – Montréal corridor first. Joining the waitlist is how you hear about it.
What we are actually trying to build
Not a taxi app with a carpool setting. A single place where an inter-city trip is posted, matched, booked and paid for, and where the match happens before anyone is asked to commit.
One place, end to end
Posting a trip, being matched, booking, paying and messaging all happen in the same app. Every part of this that lives somewhere else is a part where something gets misread, or where somebody is asked to trust a stranger with cash.
Matched before it is offered
Availability and route come first; no driver is ever invented. What we add is a comparison of what each person wants from the hours in between, so a trip is only offered when enough of it lines up.
Built for one corridor, not for everywhere
Ottawa, Toronto and Montréal are the whole product, not a test market. Transit nodes, drive times, two languages and the people who make these drives weekly are what the thing is designed around.
The parts you can check without taking our word for it
This page is read by people deciding whether Voyar is a real company: riders, drivers, and reviewers assessing an immigration application. None of them should have to rely on adjectives.
A named legal entity
Voyar Technologies Inc. The same name appears in the footer, on the legal pages, and in the structured data this site publishes for search engines. There is no trading name doing work the legal one cannot.
An address and a phone number
Both are printed on the contact page, in the page markup, and in the structured data. Neither is a form that routes into nowhere.
Four people, named
Everyone building Voyar is on this page with their role, their background and their photograph. There is no anonymous founding team and no advisory board that has never been contacted.
No numbers we cannot source
There is no user count, no funding figure, no award and no press mention anywhere on this site, because none of them exist yet. The absence is deliberate and it is the part worth checking hardest.
Who is building this
You should know who is behind a company you haven't used yet. Four people, named, with the work they did before this.

Maryam Kaboudhoun
Founder & CEO
Fifteen years building and scaling a Tehran manufacturer across procurement, sales and business development: the operational range a two-sided marketplace needs before it has scale to hide behind.

Elmira Moradi
Marketing
Commercial and international business development, and co-founder of a Tehran distribution company. Builds demand in markets where the category is new.

Babak Jamshidi
Operations
A decade in steel-industry operations, latterly as senior operations manager: planning, quality systems, and the unglamorous work of making a process repeatable.

Ehsan Salandari
Onboarding & Support
Strategic sourcing, then supplier onboarding and relationship management: designing the process by which someone new to a system is verified, brought in, and supported.
